Unilever Issues First Ever Green Sustainability Bond

In March, 2014, Unilever issued the first ever 'green sustainability bond.'

Jean Marc Huet, Unilever’s Chief Financial Officer explained that "by issuing our first Green Sustainability Bond, our intention is to invite investors to support our vision for sustainable growth, while investing in the Unilever credit.”

The funds invested through this bond are completely transparent, and are tied to a clear set of initiatives including greenhouse gas emissions, water use and waste disposal and will support projects and ventures around the world from the United States of America to South Africa to Turkey.
