It is with profound sadness and great respect that The B Team mourns the passing of former United Nations Secretary General and Nobel Peace Laureate Kofi Annan.

From his groundbreaking work as Secretary General to his role as founding member and Chair of The Elders and beyond, Kofi Annan showed the world what strong, courageous leadership can achieve. During his tenure as Secretary General, he launched the Millennium Development Goals. With this plan he asked the world to not just imagine a future where extreme poverty was eradicated, human rights were protected, and sustainability integral to all businesses and governments, but to create it. We hold this bold and determined vision as core to The B Team mission.

"No one can deprive us of the right, as concerned global citizens, to want to do something about the challenges that face us," Mr. Annan once said. We hope to carry this spirit forward and honor it by rising to the challenge every day through our work.
