Momentum Grows for US Government Action on Corruption

The fight against anonymous companies in the United States is quickly gaining traction. A new Global Witness blog post details recently introduced legislation with strong bipartisan support, aimed at putting an end to anonymous companies.

From defense spending to government property, the proposed bills aim to fight corruption across multiple sectors. These actions follow the introduction of two bills into Congress in July: the Corporate Transparency Act and the True Incorporation Transparency for Law Enforcement (TITLE) Act.

Several B Team leaders and CEOs sent a letter to key members of Congress in support of last month’s legislative efforts. The end of anonymous companies in the U.S. would help business thrive, increasing marketplace competitiveness while protecting investments and improving risk management.
