Today we are thrilled to announce that David Crane, CEO of NRG Energy, has joined The B Team. He will work, alongside our 19 other global leaders, to redefine the role of business in the world to make it a driving force for social, environmental and economic benefit.

Over the last 12 years, David Crane has led the largest independent electricity producer in the United States. And has distinguished himself for his forward-looking vision on the potential of distributed and renewable energy and the need to increase investments in clean power and technologies.

Crane will work with a number of other B Team Leaders on The B Team’s Climate cause. In 2015, this initiative focused on the need for clear and ambitious long-term emissions targets for both government and businesses, and has called for a target of net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions by 2050. Reaching net-zero emissions entails aggressively reducing one’s own footprint, investing and scaling solutions that help others reduce theirs, and balancing the remaining emissions with negative emissions technologies.
