The B Team is looking for a multidisciplinary Strategist to join our team. The Strategist should be a proactive, strategic thinker who is passionate about The B Team’s vision (a world in which business leadership drives a prosperous and fair future on a healthy planet for all). The strategist should be prepared to both lead and support our work: we are a small, hands-on staff and organize ourselves through flexible teaming in all that we do.

As we transition to a new strategy period (2026-28), The B Team will prioritize engaging with leaders outside our usual circles and pursue a series of catalytic, high impact ‘sprints’. These sprints will be focused, time-bound, intensive efforts designed to unlock momentum, surface insights, and shape what comes next. They will focus on a diverse range of issues - from the ethical and humane use of AI; to testing a new business narrative that frames climate and nature action as a source of competitive advantage; to engaging CEOs and policymakers to spotlight positive incentives and challenge harmful subsidies. Our ways of working will also be diverse - including raising awareness, changing behavior, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration.

Therefore we are looking for someone with the energy and passion to work across the full breadth of our campaigns. We would like to recruit an enthusiastic generalist, rather than a thematic (or disciplinary) specialist. The Strategist should have a diverse skillset, with some experience working in areas such as advocacy, coalition-building and collaboration, policy, and an ambition to grow and diversify their skills further within The B Team.

Working across The B Team, key responsibilities may include a mix of the following:

  • Relationship building and management, especially among ‘Worker Bs’ (Leader staff teams) and key strategic partners.
  • Advocacy and influencing, in support of our thematic ‘sprints’ (both advocacy to policymakers, and business-to-business)
  • Horizon scanning and foresight. Working with colleagues and partners to identify emerging trends and policy shifts, and identifying opportunities for strategic B Team engagement.
  • Facilitating convening, which is critical to everything that The B Team does. This could entail convening B Team Leaders; their staff teams; or wider stakeholders across the public, private and civil society sectors.
  • Event management and logistics, often involving travel in support of B Team Leaders.
  • Supporting fundraising, grant delivery, and reporting.

The Strategist may also be required to take on other duties as need arises to help drive forward our mission and vision.

Qualifications and Skills
The best candidates will bring a mix of the following:

  • Experience in advocacy/influencing, including ability to tailor to an business executive audience and translate between policy and business audiences
  • Understanding of multilateral processes and events
  • Demonstrable ability to build and maintain networks
  • Facilitation and coordination of events and partners, including work with senior leaders
  • Collaborative and cooperative approach and mindset
  • Agile and responsive decision making
  • Resilience for complexity and change
  • Flexible teaming
  • Existing knowledge/passion/interest in core areas of The B Team’s work
  • Curiosity to learn about and contribute to new areas of work; getting up to speed on topics quickly
  • Storytelling to be able to explain our vision, mission and impact clearly
  • Results orientation and follow-through

We are background agnostic and would like to hear from applicants of all professional backgrounds with varied skill sets and personal experiences. We believe that diversity is a strength and we are looking forward to meeting with candidates that can bring fresh insight to the team. If you do not meet all of the qualifications above, but believe you could thrive in the role and support The B Team’s mission, we still encourage you to apply.
