Since becoming CEO and chairman of Kering in 2005, François-Henri Pinault has continued to build and transform the company into a world leader in luxury and sport & lifestyle apparel and accessories.

His steady rise through the ranks of the family-controlled, listed business dates back to 1987, when he joined the Pinault Group as a timber salesman. In the decades that followed he earned positions of increasing responsibility, including sequential terms as chairman of Pinault Group’s CFAO and Fnac businesses in the 1990s. In 2000, Mr Pinault was named deputy CEO of Kering where he spearheaded the Group’s digital strategy. He became chairman of the Artemis Group in 2003 before taking the reins as CEO at Kering.

In addition to serving on numerous boards and executive committees, Mr Pinault founded and chairs the Kering Corporate Foundation, an organisation that combats violence against women. He has a personal and professional passion for digital commerce and is a champion of social and environmental sustainability.
