A 40-year veteran of Dow and recognized global business leader, Liveris is an international advocate for the criticality of manufacturing worldwide. He is the author of Make It in America, which presents a comprehensive set of practical policy solutions and business strategies for revitalizing this important sector. As an established thought leader in the topic, Liveris served as Co-Chair of U.S. President Obama’s Advanced Manufacturing Partnership steering committee and has been sought after by other world leaders for his manufacturing knowledge. During his tenure, he led global business in integrating sustainability into everything Dow does, culminating in the launch of Dow’s 2025 Sustainability Goals. This novel set of targets will incorporate the value of nature and society into all of Dow’s economic decisions and help Dow to redefine the role of business in society. Liveris also oversaw an innovative employee engagement initiative that is particularly appealing to Dow’s young talent: the Dow Sustainability Corps. This program partners Dow employees with non-governmental organizations or social entrepreneurs that are addressing global sustainability challenges such as the need for clean water, sustainable food sources, affordable housing, health care, and energy.
In addition to his work at Dow, Liveris’ breadth of experience and expertise is broadly represented across business, government, academic and non-profit sectors.
