Goal 8 of the Global Goals for sustainable development, set to be adopted this week by the United Nations, seeks to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
The B Team’s Richard Branson, in a recent blog post writes that “Goal 8 gives us the chance to prove that business can be a force for good, and support the creation of a thriving economy for people and the planet.”
We are indeed seeing many examples of new ways of working, with businesses rethinking their relationship with their employees and building innovative workplaces that allow people to thrive. Here at The B Team we’ve been exploring ways that business can make work 100% Human and convening People Innovation Network gatherings to further advance this work.
The Global Goals do indeed set a framework for which these types of values can be incorporated across the business landscape.
